ARAISE project official kick off
The ARAISE project was officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting held on September 4–5 at the Delta Centre of the University of Tartu, Estonia. The meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative European initiative focused on advancing education and research in robotics through innovation, open technologies, and cross-border cooperation.
The kick-off meeting brought together project partners from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Estonia, representing a diverse mix of research institutions, educational organizations, and innovation hubs:
Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft (Austria)
JOANNEUM RESEARCH (Austria)
FabLab Bosnia & Herzegovina (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Academy Polytechnic (Serbia)
University of Tartu (Estonia)
Over the course of two productive days, participants exchanged knowledge and expertise, discussed project goals and implementation plans, and explored the capabilities of the open-source Robotont robotics platform, which plays a key role in the project’s technical and educational framework. The sessions provided an opportunity to align expectations, define responsibilities, and set a clear direction for the upcoming project activities.
The shared mission of the ARAiSE project is to strengthen robotics education and research across Europe, while fostering collaboration between academic institutions, research organizations, and innovation ecosystems. By leveraging open-source technologies and international cooperation, the project aims to create new learning opportunities, support innovation, and contribute to the development of future-ready skills in robotics and related fields.
With strong partnerships in place and a clear roadmap ahead, the ARAiSE project is set to embark on an exciting journey of collaboration and impact.
More updates and results will follow as the project progresses — stay tuned.
